The DC foster parent licensing process typically takes 5-6 months to complete, and we aim to get you into the next training classes within 30 days. Completing the entire licensing process will result in your becoming fully licensed to foster children in DC! Foster parents receive a monthly stipend of $1,100 per child, which is not considered a salary.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Live in Washington, DC
• Be at least 21 years old
• Minimum income of $16,000/yr
• Have a private room for child (not loft)
• Every adult over 18 in your home must pass a criminal background check and demonstrate no charges related to child abuse, neglect, or major offenses
