Taniya Rogers has lived in the DC area for 16 years, is a graduate of the Effective Black Parenting program as a participant, and now serves as a mentor to current participants and the Program Manager. Taniya has dedicated herself to providing service within her community to families and individuals needing support. Taniya is a Housing Rights Advocate in the DC region, as such she works alongside the #CancelRentDcCoalition and the #DCOneRightToHousing to change the course of housing and financial injustices. Additionally, Taniya is a tenant organizer who builds power alongside DC tenants by advocating in for support and creates programs benefiting low-income tenants and those who have been economically impacted by the pandemic. She is a grassroots organizer with experience in canvassing, recruiting, and promoting solidarity within subsidized housing communities. Taniya has advocated on the Empower Radio Talk Show, Apex Radio, Op-Ed articles, Moral Monday with Reverend Barber and Reverend Liz, and to political figures. Taniya is working to earn her degree in Integrative Health and Science from the American College of Health and Science. Taniya is a mother of two, and enjoys ethnic foods, anime, gaming, and nature in all aspects.
