Najiba Hlemi

Najiba Hlemi is an experienced nonprofit leader with a passion for public service; she brings nearly a decade of experience directing unions, associations and charity organizations. She earned a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management, as well as an MBA from the University of Maryland Global Campus and a Bachelor’s degrees in Business Marketing and another in French from West Virginia University. Najiba was on the women’s rowing team and a member of Sigma Alpha Pi and Alpha Kappa Psi at the University of West Virginia. As an immigrant from the Ivory Coast, Africa and a former foster care youth living in Northern Virginia, Najiba is determined to bring positive change to the lives of the most vulnerable members in our communities. For this reason, she has dedicated her career to serving others. In 2018, she was a recipient of the Martin Luther King Dreamers Award for her work with youth in Anne Arundel County. Najiba enjoys spending time in DC and surrounding areas, traveling, reading, and is an avid Latin ballroom dancer.
